About Jet Filter

JET Filter System

Earth Retaining Structures (ERS) are failing daily in all parts of the world due to clogged or insufficient weep holes.

Manageable Weep Hole Component

The JET FILTER relieves the hydrostatic pressures created by rain water as well as tidal surges trapped behind erosion control structures such as:

The JET Filter System uses the highly rated Mirafi® Filter-weave FW 300 series media. This media maintains long-term flow rates in high gradient and dynamic conditions.

Backed by civil engineers, marine contractors, project managers, government, and state officials. A lack of erosion control is a vital issue in wall design. One common problem is wall movement in addition to tieback / whaler tension, toe failure, horizontal cracking, and panel separation.

Weep holes relieve the hydrostatic water pressure from behind the wall without causing soil loss and/or sinkholes. It’s very important to have access to the erosion control fabric from behind the wall that will clog and/or degrade over time without proper upkeep.

The JET Filter System allows for the removal of the inner filter cartridge from the front face of any wall design, ensuring maximum life expectancy for any installed wall.

Concrete Seawalls

A lack of erosion control that causes sink holes is a vital issue with a concrete seawall design. One common problem is wall movement in addition to tieback/whaler tension, toe failure, horizontal cracking, panel separation, and stress. Other considerations are wave forces, toe scours, wave overtopping, and storm surges.

Sheet Piling

Vinyl Sheet Piling, Z Type Steel Sheet Piling, FRP Composite, and Aluminum Sheet Piling Interlocks sheet pile structures will experience the build up of significant hydrostatic water pressure, a vital issue for a sheet piling design. JET Filter components are made in the USA and comply with the Buy American Clause.

JET Filter Applications for Bridge Abutments and Box Culvert

Bridge Abutments

Proper care and inspections can also help avoid major disasters. Water run-off without drainage may weaken bridge abutments and wing walls by eroding the material that supports the structure. Furthermore, poor drainage may cause considerable challenges by settling behind the wall and soaking the soil with incredible pressure.

Flood Control Channel Applications

Flood Control Channels

Trapezoidal concrete lined channel structural problems are indicated by cracking, exposure of reinforcing bars, and large areas of spalled concrete along with soil loss from existing weep holes. Even if the spillway or flood control basin is in good condition, seepage under the spillway or erosion at the outlet or along the sides can cause the spillway to fail. We should check spillway/basin floor slabs and walls for the erosion of underlying base material known as undermining.

JET Filter Application On Wooden Bulkhead

Wooden Bulkheads

Proper venting of the wooden bulkhead is absolute paramount, as water will enter the wall from rain, runoff, irrigation, etc. Forces of nature and physics all work together to create a fully functioning wall assembly that vents properly and this action maintains the soil density behind the bulkhead. The purpose of installing weep holes in a wooden bulkhead will relieve the hydrostatic water pressure that may settle or rest behind the wall.

JET Filter Application Retaining Wall

MSE Retaining Walls

Sufficient drainage can increase the life of a retaining wall. Dry soil may provide little stress on a retaining wall, however heavy soil without proper retaining wall drainage may cause the wall to buckle or lean.
